The Academy Awards ceremony is one of the greatest events of the year for some people, but not for all. Yes it's fun to see what people wear and who wins what award, but there are people out there that generally dislike the celebration. But we want you to tune in and we have something that might persuade you to do so!

Here at Mstars News, we've decided to help out with your Oscar viewing pleasure by turning it into a pleasurable activity: the (unofficial) 2013 Oscars Drinking Game!

What you'll need:

We recommend using beer - perhaps "the Champaign of Beer," Miller High Life, to get into the spirit of the ceremony. If not beer, we advise you to pace yourself especially with hard liquor. Champagne would clearly be the best choice, but we're not going to tell you to drop a ton of cash on this drinking game. Feel free to do so, though! There are also shot options, so choose your liquor wisely on this one.

We'll keep things simple and split this into three categories, each with five incentives. Ready? Let's get started!

Take a sip:

Take a shot:

  • If a winner isn't there to accept the award
  • If Bette Midler's special appearance turns out to be a musical performance
  • If Matthew McConaughey wins "Best Actor" and starts his speech with, "Alright, alright, alright."
  • If a censor misses a curse
  • If Leonardo DiCaprio wins in the "Best Actor" category (would be his first Oscar!)

Finish your drink:

  • If Nebraska or Bruce Dern win in their respective categories (if both happen, throw back a shot)
  • Same as above for Philomena and Judy Dench
  • Every time an acceptance speech runs too long and the winner has to be played off by the band (chug until the music ends)
  • When Paul Walker shows up during the "In Memoriam" video (feel free to apply this to any actor we've lost)
  • If Meryl Streep wins "Best Actress" (you know why)

Get ready to celebrate this Sunday night on ABC!
