[PHOTO] Check out Grant Gustin in 'Flash' costume for CW's 'Arrow' spinoff series [SPOILERS]

The CW is hoping to capitalize on the success of its DC Comics-based series Arrow with the new spinoff Flash and a recently released photo of star Grant Gustin in costume has us excited. It looks like, just like Arrow, Flash can be another huge series for the network based on a comic book hero. 

Deadline reports:

Warner Bros. Television has just released the first image from its CW pilot The Flash, based on the DC comic. It shows Grant Gustin in full head gear as his character Barry Allen's superhero alter ego The Flash. In the show, through a freak accident, scientist Barry Allen (Gustin) is given the power of super speed that transforms him into the Fastest Man Alive. Allen was introduced on the CW series Arrow this season but The Flash won't make his debut until the pilot, executive produced by co-writers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg and director David Nutter. Production begins next week.

Though you only see the headgear, it certainly looks impressive

Arrow costume designer Colleen Atwood designed this new costume. Flash is hoping to premier in the 2014-2015 season on the CW and by the looks of this costume production is on the right path.

Gustin's character is "a Central City assistant police forensics investigator who arrives in Starling to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past."
