Manchester City have been aiming to be the Premier League's dominating force since their rich owners took over the club, and it's safe to say the Capital One Cup is the least important of their trophy targets, but it's still one they want, and need to win. On Sunday March 2nd the blues will face Sunderland in the first English domestic final of the season.

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet spoke with BBC it'd be a hard task and said his players would been to be "outstanding" if they were to win this trophy, but City goalkeeper Joe Hart said his team were "hungry" to keep themselves in the hunt for all four trophies they are competing for. Sunderland do have confidence going in to the game knowing they beat City 1-0 last time the pair met in November.

It's a Capital One Cup final debut for both managers Gus Poyet and Manuel Pellegrini, so both will be throwing everything they've got at this game. The game is set to have a crowd of over 80,000, which should make for a fantastic occasion for both teams. This is Manchester City's sixth visit in three years, so they should be at home for this final.

Will Manchester City win the first trophy of the season, and if so can they win all four trophies this season, or will Sunderland put an abrupt end to that this Sunday? Although they're clear favourites in this final, they were in a final against underdogs Wigan last season, and fell short, so anything can happen.
