Are Spider-Man and The Avengers About to Unite as One?

For many years people have explored all of the options for superhero crossover films, and it appears it's not just the fans, but the stars themselves who want to see what directors and writers can create. The star of Sony's 'The Amazing Spider-Man' film series has stated he would like to appear in a creative crossover with Marvel Studios' 'The Avengers.'

Andrew Garfield told Yahoo that he would be supportive of Sony Pictures and Disney (owner of Marvel Studios) working together so the fans could enjoy the likes of Spider-Man and Iron Man working together, to save the world. The film would likely break records with its viewing figures, but it would also attract negative feedback too, as many fans believe the two should never mix. Some fans believe the tradition of these comics and films should remain intact, meaning they'd never allow any unique combination that would see Spider-Man, Hulk and others link up.

Garfield explained "I would love that. I know that the fans would love that, the fans of the Marvel universe... the more the merrier, the bigger the better," and he then followed up saying "I say 'never say never', you know. I think everyone would love to see that." Garfield and director Marc Webb have been busy promoting the latest instalment of their own, but it's clear they're looking ahead already.

'The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is coming, and for now that will be enough to make the fans forget of any potential combination of the two massive productions, but it won't be long before others begin exploring the option. Would you like to see Spider-Man alongside Iron Man?
