Terminator: Genesis aka Terminator 5 will already feature Arnold Schwarzenegger as the titular cyborg, but some new rumored plot details indicate that other characters from the past films could return, as well.

The information comes from Moviehole and is in no way confirmed by any official source. The site describes its source as "really reputable," but, as always, take all of this as nothing but speculation until an official word comes.

The site reports that Terminator: Genesis will move between 1984 (the time of the first Terminator movie), 1991 (the time of Terminator 2: Judgement Day) and "other important and influential time periods in the life of the Connor family. The movie will reportedly begin with the first Terminator:

"The Terminator from the future will arrive on earth, attack some punks (keen to see who they get to play 'Bill Paxton'), and then slaughter his way through a bunch of Sarah Connors' - until he finds the correct target.

Kyle Reese then reportedly follows the Terminator back through time again, but Reese and Sarah will meet up with other characters from the original film:

"And all the characters that appeared in the Cameron original, like Detective Hal Vukovich (played by Lance Henriksen in the original), Lieutenant Ed Traxler (played by Paul Winfield way back when), Sarah's roomie Ginger (Bess Motta in the '84 film) and, yep, even Pugsley the Iguana, return. So, yep, we'll likely get to see Schwarzenegger back in the leather jacket and cool sunglasses he wore in the original."

The report states that the movie will play out differently that the events in the first film, but will also show important moments such as the T-1000 hunting John Connor (as it did in Terminator 2) and the liquid metal monster killing John's foster parents.

Finally, the movie will reportedly go back further in time to "scenes with young Sarah and her parents."

The site described Terminator 5 as less like J.J. Abrams' Star Trek reboot and more like Back to the Future Part 2.
