Thomas Kretschmann will take on the role of the undying Baron Wolfgang von Strucker in Joss Whedon's superhero sequel The Avengers: Age of Ultron. The actor recently spoke about his part in the movie as one of the villains and offered some tidbits on his part in the process.

Kretschmann spoke to B.Z. Berlin (translation via Comic Book Movie) and confirmed that his deal to play Baron von Strucker spans multiple movies.

"That's great of course," he said. "I have a multi-picture deal which means I will not only appear in the 2nd part, but they're planning with me for a longer period of time. But I don't know details yet, they're keeping their cards close to their chest - top secret!"

The German actor also admitted that the scope of the movie gave him jitters initially.

"Oh yes, I was nervous," he admits. "I was overprepared; then on the set I went up to Joss Whedon, who passes for a genius, and said 'this is my first day, this is huge, please have patience with me, I'm a bit nervous.'"

The curious note here is that principal photography on Age of Ultron does not begin until later in March, but Kretschmann seems to imply here that he has already filmed some scenes with Whedon at the helm. The other interesting takeaway is the comment about his multi-film contract. Given Baron von Strucker's history in the comics as a Captain America villain, perhaps the actor will pop up in Captain America: The Winter Soldier in the post-credits scene.
