Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns tonight with a brand new episode entitled "Tahiti," a reference to Agent Phil Coulson's (Clark Gregg) resurrection. The official plot description reads, "Coulson goes on the attack to save Skye (Chloe Bennet) - enlisting the aid of Ward's (Brett Dalton) former S.O. John Garrett (Bill Paxton) - and uncovers shocking truths about his own life and S.H.I.E.L.D."

IGN visited the set of the show last month and received some interesting pieces of information about the episode from the cast and crew. Gregg said the dynamic between Coulson and Garrett is one that indicates a long history between the two:

"You know, everybody has that friend that knows a little too much about them. I would say that Bill Paxton's character and Agent Coulson are both that to each other. I always think about this scene in Thor where Agent Coulson walks out with this megaphone to deal with this giant, metal death monster in the desert, and he's like, 'Oh God, what do we got now?' I thought that was such a telling scene, because I thought, 'What has his week been like that this is a little boring to him?' When you see the repartee between Agent Coulson and Agent Garrett, you go, 'Yeah, these guys have been through one too many weeks like that.' I also like that they're both of a similar age so that they get to tease each other about how slow they are getting up and stuff like that. That's fun for me."

Everyone interviewed in the article praised Paxton, and executive producer Jed Whedon said it was a dream that he took the part:

"We actually discussed Bill Paxton in the room, when we were talking about the character,".Whedon said. "Then when he came up as an actual possibility, we couldn't believe it."
