The hit HBO series Game of Thrones is known for its epic stories, fire-breathing dragons, nudity and blood. It is not, however, known for hip-hop music. Until now.

HBO has partnered with some well-known musical artists to create the first Game of Thrones mixtape entitled Catch The Throne: The Mixtape (presumably inspired by Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch The Throne). Wale, Big Boi, Common and Daddy Yankee are four of the names attached to the project, which will feature exclusive songs inspired by stories from the show's first three seasons.

"We are excited to create an additional fan touch point with Catch The Throne: The Mixtape," said HBO's SVP of Multicultural Marketing, Lucinda Martinez, in a statement (via E! Online). "This is a unique opportunity to give fans great original music and an innovative way to highlight the electrifying Game of Thrones series."

The mixtape will be released on Friday at the SXSW Festival and will feature 10 hip-hop/reggaeton songs. Each of the artists on the mixtape are devoted fans of the show and wanted to both inspire the listeners and bring them up to speed on the show before the Season 4 premiere on Sunday, April 6.

We can only guess what these songs will sound like, but be sure to check back with MStars once the mixtape becomes available.

In the meantime, give your thoughts! What do you think of this idea? Can hip-hip and fantasy blend together in a way that isn't completely ridiculous? Let us know in the comments below.
