FX has renewed its animated spy series Archer through 2016, ensuring two more seasons out of the fan-favorite comedy. In additional to this renewal, the series is also looking at the possibility for syndication in the future.

Deadline reports:

Seeing the animated spy series through to 2016 and syndication possibilities, the cable channel today said it has ordered 13 episodes for each of Archer's' sixth and seventh seasons. The double pickup comes with a lot of confidence from FX.

"Archer is one of the best comedies on television and has played a significant role in the growth of the FX comedy brand," one of the presidents of original programming for FX Networks and FX Productions, Eric Schrier, said today in an announcement statement. "We're grateful to Adam Reed, Matt Thompson and their team at Floyd County, and also our incredible voice cast, and are looking forward to supporting their work for at least two more seasons."

The popular FX animated series is currently in its fifth season, which is also known as Archer Vice, is the second highest rated comedy on basic cable in the 18-49 demographic. This recent switch to the Vice storyline definitely opens up worlds of possibilities for the recently announced seasons, so it'll be interesting to see where the show goes from here.
