Fans of Boy Meets World have eagerly been anticipating the arrival of its sequel series, Girl Meets World, which will follow a married Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) and the misadventures of their daughter, Riley (Rowan Blanchard). Since the announcement of the show, fans of the original series have wondered which of the characters from Boy Meets World would appear on the new show.

Fortunately, the "Spoiler Chat" column at E! Online has the details on Riley's uncle, a character who should be familiar to most fans of Boy Meets World:

"Cory and Topanga are my OTP. Girl Meets World better be amazinggggg. Got any goods?
We're going to meet Riley's uncle! Not Eric, but Joshua. Now in his teens, Joshua is the 'cool' uncle to Riley and Auggie. Viewers first met the youngest Matthews brother in season six of Boy Meets World."

So, for now, Eric (Will Friedle) won't be stopping by Girl Meets World, but that could always change.

"Spoiler Chat" also reported earlier in the week that Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) will share many traits with Cory's best friend, Shawn Hunter:

"I'm loving all these Girl Meets World spoilers you guys are giving us! Got any more?
We sure do! We cannot wait to meet Maya, Riley Matthew's best friend-aka the female Shawn Hunter. Not only is Maya a slacker in school, she, like Shawn, also has an absentee mother. Maya's mom is working as a waitress in a diner while she waits for her big break to fulfill her dreams of being an actress. Hopefully, Topanga and Cory can shake some sense into this mother, so she'll focus on her daughter more."

What do you think of this news? Are you happy to see Joshua, or does Eric's absence still bother you? Let us know in the comments below.
