Timbaland had a big year in 2013 and he's keeping the momentum going thus far in 2014. The super producer recently released a 1:07 snippet of an unreleased Michael Jackson song titled "Slave to the Rhythm."

Last year during an interview with Revolt TV, Timbaland revealed that he would be working on a posthumous Michael Jackson album.

Timbaland says Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid came up with the idea of producing an upcoming MJ project and reached out to him.

"To even go bigger would be two kings working together. L.A. Reid came to me, like to my house. I got something big I want to do. I can tell you the first single's gonna be the song 'Chicago,' but I'm gonna set it up right. So, now it's my time, watch me go," Timbaland said last year.

Back in 2010 a posthumous Michael Jackson album was to be released. Though the album, Michael, was never put out, it features unreleased vocals from the King of Pop.

The Timbaland produced album will feature his vocals as well.

In an interview announcing the project, Timbaland had this to say:

"You have to be a true Michael Jackson fan to appreciate what I'm about to do."

Many fans have said it's hard to tell how well they like the song because its such a short sample.

The status of the project is unknown at this time.
