Australian actor Jai Courtney won the role of Kyle Reese in Alan Taylor's Terminator: Genesis aka Terminator 5. The role will reportedly be a major one that could have a significant effect on future installments in the franchise.

The film is a reboot, but rumor has it Terminator 5 will be more in the style of Back to The Future Part 2 than J.J. Abrams' Star Trek film. And Courtney is no stranger ot reboots. In an interview with IGN to promote Divergent, the actor noted that he tends to be cautious about reboots, but recently starred in one.

"I've always had a bit of skepticism about something being rebooted," he said. "I remember when [A Good Day to] Die Hard came around a few years ago, I was like, 'Really? They're gonna make another one?' and then I found myself in it and totally invested in it. I think it's healthy to have that [skepticism] because you want it to be something [special]. You want to keep that eye for quality sharp."

Courtney also explained why he decided to sign on for the film, which will reportedly jump through time to different important periods in the history of the Terminator franchise.

"But when I read this, I was pretty into it and the story's cool," Courtney said. "It's attached a great cast as well. I think Emilia Clarke's wonderful and she's got a lot of support and stuff behind her. And Jason Clarke as well I'm a big admirer of so, yeah, it's gonna be really cool, man. I'm looking forward to doing that, and running around with Arnie won't be too bad."
