Mona Scott-Young being sued by 8th Wonder Entertainment for $50 million over VH1 hit show, ‘Love & Hip Hop’

Mona Scott-Young has been very successful with her hit show Love & Hip Hop, but her brand and franchise is getting in her a lot of trouble and involved with a major lawsuit.

Mona who is the executive producer of the VH1 show is under fire and being accused of stealing the idea and concept for Love and & Hip Hop. MStars has learned that 8th Wonder Entertainment, Nicki Lum-Davis and Trisha Lum are suing the producer's company, Monami Entertainment for $50 million.

VH1, MTV Networks, and Viacom are also in the lawsuit, that was file March 10, 2014. TattleTailz.com revealed the court documents that showed Mona is being pointed at and accused of copyright infringement, fraud, and breach of contract, breach of confidence for the show's concept.

8th Wonder Entertainment claims that they had the idea of a show to be called Hip Hop Wives, after VH1 had a hit with Basketball Wives. Some of the cast included, Tashera Simmons, Chrissy Lampkin, Mashonda Tifere, and Debbie Lorenzo.

Fans did see Chrissy, and Mashonda on Mona's show, Love & Hip Hop.

The plaintiffs are claiming that Mona and VH1 were active in the story and production idea meetings, which led to Mona producing the concept and becoming a success with the hit show.

Court documents show that Chrissy backed out of her deal with 8th Wonder only to link up with Mona and VH1 some time later. No comments have been made by Mona, Monami Entertainment, or the networks regarding the lawsuit at this time.
