Fox News personality Bill O'Reilly interviewed music mogul Russell Simmons, who was promoting his book Success Through Stillness: Meditation Made Simple, about the entertainment industry's influence on teens and young children on The O'Reilly Factor.

Commenting on Beyonce's music video for her single Partition, O'Reilly said, "Teenage girls look up to Beyonce. Particularly girls of color. She's an idol to them. I'm saying why on Earth would this woman do that."

"I've been very critical of harmful entertainment marketed largely unsupervised children," O'Reilly said.

"I think artists throughout history, poets throughout history have been uh criticized for sharing whats on people minds and I don't think that's different now," Simmons said.

Simmons went on to say, "I think the artist's job throughout history has been to tell the same things that people are inspired by...  There's research that says a man thinks about sex every 12 seconds.  And so when an artist expresses something that's sexual in music, there's a reflection of our reality."

O'Reilly responds back, saying that, "I believe that an entertainer like Beyonce and a mogul like you have an obligation to protect children, not put out exploitative garbage that you know harms impressionable children. I think Beyonce, what she has done here is inexplicable and I'm asking you, Russel SImmons, to explain it to me."

Simmons responds by stating that as a parent, he has a certain responsibility to raise his children to have guidance and the ability to discern for themselves what is right and wrong.  "My daughters make choices based on the inspiration we give them as parents."

O'Reilly responds with, "You're a good father... and the mother's amazing, what about the kids who don't have an amazing mother and an okay father?"

The lyircs of Beyonce's song, Partition, open with, "Driver, roll up the partition, please/ Driver, roll up the partition, please/  I don't need you seeing 'Yonce on her knees/ Took 45 minutes to get all dressed up/ We ain't even gonna make it to this club/ Now my mascara running, red lipstick smudged/ Oh he so horny, yeah he want to fuck/ He popped all my buttons, and he ripped my blouse/ He Monica Lewinsky-ed all on my gown."
