Earlier this week you might have noticed a particular viral video being spread around social networks, with plenty of "shares" on Facebook to make sure your feed was full of chances to spot the clip. This short film directed by artist Tatia Pilieva is entitled "First Kiss" and is described as a documentation of strangers kissing with wkward yet "touching" and "poignant" results. Well if you were indeed "touched" by this video, you have been had for this is just an ad for a Los Angeles based clothing line called Wren.

Let's watch the video first in case you missed it, then we can go ahead and ruin any emotions that may come up after you view it.

To be fair, these are indeed strangers. But really, they are actors and models that are used to kissing strangers. Sure that doesn't take a way all of the awkwardness you might expect from this situation, but this is something these people do for a living.

Slate reports:

Actually, it's an advertisement for clothes, and most of these strangers are professional performers who are experienced in acting out love, sex, and intimacy for crowds. The cast includes models Natalia Bonifacci, Ingrid Schram, and Langley Fox (daughter of actress Mariel Hemingway and sister of model Dree); musicians Z Berg of The Like, Damian Kulash of OK Go, Justin Kennedy of Army Navy, singer Nicole Simone, and singer-actress Soko (who also performed the melancholy indie music that accompanies the short); and actors Karim Saleh, Matthew Carey, Jill Larson, Corby Griesenbeck, Elisabetta Tedla, Luke Cook, and Marianna Palka.

We're not saying that seeing strangers kissing isn't interesting, it's just that the whole fact that this was set up to sell clothes definitely takes away from the "short film."
