The Cleveland Cavaliers have lived by the promise of developing young, talented players, and at times when stars have been available they've stuck to their guns and only added players who they believed added immense value to their team for the present and their long term plan for success. When the Cavaliers traded for Philadelphia 76ers' Spencer Hawes, some said it was a bad move, but he has certainly proved otherwise during his short career as a Cavalier.

The 76ers have had their struggles and even though the Cavaliers aren't miles ahead, it seemed weird to be looking at adding a starting player from their struggling roster. Hawes is known for his ability to score and rebound and his active nature that so make him an attractive asset to have, but with other centers on the roster some believed he wasn't needed. They were wrong.

The young center has been a dominant force for Cleveland, linking with franchise player and star guard, Kyrie Irving, who seems delighted to play alongside Hawes. Hawes has strangely provided the Cavaliers with an additional scoring threat they lacked and at times he's led the team's scoring on the night. When not contributing via his points total his general basketball smarts have been impressive and his ability to seemingly get involved in every pivotal play.

It my be early to consider this trade a success, but it seems the Cavaliers have found yet another piece that will push them one step closer to the successful team they desire.
