John Legend says Harry Styles is a great songwriter amidst solo career and One Direction break up rumors

Rumors of Harry Styles seeking a solo career outside of his One Direction boy band started as soon as the young singer started to outshine his bandmates in celebrity but the claims are growing now that it looks like a break up is on the way. Despite the pop stars denying any sort of split or break up, rumors are still popping up and it doesn't help that Styles has been writing songs with John Legend.

In fact, Legend recently confirmed that he and Harry have indeed worked together and also complimented the British boy band singer.

"We got together for a few hours and wrote what I think is a really lovely song," Legend said. "I'd love to write with him again as he is a very great guy and very talented. He has some really great lyrical ideas and is a very good songwriter."

This of course has plenty of Directioners worried, but we should mention that Styles and Legend collaborated on a new song for X-Factor singing duo Alex and Sierra, not a solo song for Styles.

"Our favorite [song] is one that Harry Styles wrote with John Legend, it's beautiful and lovely," Sierra revealed last month. "[Harry] is actually an amazing writer, he's pitched us a few other good ones and they're really good."

We should also mention that One Direction is getting back to work after a long break. The boys are about to embark on some practice and training for their world stadium tour, "Where We Are."
