Long time civil & animal rights activist Pink has come out in support of NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio's mission to stop horse-drawn carriages in NYC.

The singer was quoted saying that she supports a ban on the controversial attraction, stating: "I grew up caring for horses and mucking stalls for my aunt, who owns a horse farm in North Carolina ... I learned that horses are very social herd animals which, by nature, spend their days grazing, playing, and running together. Sadly, the 220 horses in New York City in the carriage industry endure a miserable."

This isn't the first time the singer has come out in support of banning horse drawn carriages - in a 2008 interview Pink also voiced her support for such a ban.
