News about the cast of the Fantastic Four movie reboot had swirled for months until the recent official announcement that Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell would play Mr. Fantastic, Human Torch, Invisible Woman and The Thing, respectively. Josh Trank was set to direct the movie written by X-Men Days of Future Past scribe Simon Kinberg, but a recent report states 20th Century Fox is prepared to throw all of this out the window.

Bleeding Cool reported that the reboot is in deep trouble, as Fox could dump Trank, the script AND the cast:

"I've learnt from a rather well-connected source that, as the title says, Fox has dumped Fantastic Four director John Trank and the script by Simon Kinberg and are actively looking for replacements. Six months before they are due to shoot, for 2015 release. Oh, yes, and there are now casting issues from the studio too."

Bleeding Cool tends to be pretty reliable with its reports and likely would not post this report without confidence in its validity, so it's tough to just disregard this; however, Comic Book Movie reposted some tweets that denied the report.

Bleeding Cool then responded to those denials with the following statement:

"Screen Crush cites high level Fox sources denying this story. However we remain confident in our source. Bleeding Cool suggests that if Fox really would like to stomp on the rumour, they stop approaching folk to replace the director."
