Disney's Maleficent trailer has been released. Maleficent is scheduled to be released on May 30. Angelina Jolie plays the Mistress of All Evil, who curses Princess Aurora to die before she celebrates her 16th birthday after Maleficent is not invited to the child's christening.

In a scene that looks between a mix of Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones, Jolie's on-screen presence commands respect and attention.

"There is evil in this world," Maleficent (Jolie) says in the trailer. "Hatred and revenge."

"I know who you are," Princess Aurora confronts Maleficent in the teaser trailer.  "You've been watching over me my whole life. I know you're there.  Your shadow, it's been following me ever since I was small.  Don't be afraid."

To which Maleficent responds, "I'm not afraid."

"Then come out," the Princess demands.

"Then you'll be afriad," Maleficent sneers.

The Oscar-winning actress was dubbed perfect for the villainous, Disney role.  In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jolie said, "It is really funny when people say you'd be obvious for a great villain. She was just my favorite as a little girl. I was terrified of her but I was really drawn to her. I loved her. There were some discussions about it before I got the part, and I got a phone call from my brother who said 'You got to get your name on the list for this!'"

The actress went on to saying in the interview that the character is one most can connect with.  "What's interesting about her that what I do relate to, and what I think everyone relates to, is she's not what you assume she is."
