One Direction members want an 'edgier' look to distance themselves from the clean-cut boy band style

If for some reason you haven't noticed, international superstar pop group One Direction doesn't look like a boy band anymore. We don't see matching outfits or funny-yet-cute styles on Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, or Zayn Malik anymore. Instead fans are seeing more of an edge from most of the members, but definitely no more colorful suspenders!

You don't have to read a whole article on some website to notice this, but apparently the change in style isn't going over too well with the band's management. If anything, this change makes the higher-ups realize that the boys aren't completely controllable.

This apparently proves that they "aren't afraid to dictate their own terms," which might not be a bad thing for the parties involved. If anything, perhaps they'd take the business more seriously, leading to more opportunities and success.

"Niall is the only member to still look like he's in a boy band," a source said. "The other boys have told their stylist they want an edgier look - they're keen to ditch their boy band image."

It might be a little expected that these 20-something young adults don't want to look like they were professionally dressed anymore, but who knows!

Though, there could be one downside to the edginess. Apparently Harry is fed up with the boy band thing in general!

"The boys feel Harry doesn't want to be in a boy band any more and it's a bit of an issue between them," the insider added.

We've heard the solo career rumors for a while now, so we shouldn't jump to conclusions just yet.
