Former boxing world champion Amir Khan will fight American star Luis Collazo on the Floyd Mayweather vs Marcos Maidana undercard on 3 May. Perhaps Amir will feel hard done by, as he was promised a bout with Floyd on that date, and was betrayed, with Maidana taking his place. Floyd made a some what insulting offer to Khan, with regards to taking an exciting fight on his card, and if he wins, Floyd has promised to fight Khan. Khan has surprisingly accepted, so will the pair go head-to-head next?

Floyd is considered the best pound-for-pound boxer and Khan has never been one to dodge the best of the best. WBC welterweight champion Mayweather appears to enjoy toying with possible opponents, and this should inspire Khan, perhaps helping him in the long run.

Khan has a good reason to dislike Floyd, after he promised a fans' poll would decide his next opponent, after Khan had signed his half of the contract. Khan won the fans' poll, and Mayweather opted to go against the poll, angering both fans and Khan in the process.

Khan has previously beaten Maidana, and will feel if he can steal the show on Mayweather's card that he will have no choice but to fight him in a sensational showdown. After his disappointment Khan told everyone "Mayweather decided not to take the fight with me, probably because he thought I would be the first to take away his unbeaten record, and is now fighting somebody I've already beaten," and he continued "I think the fight with Mayweather will happen one day but I'm not rushing and it will happen when I'm ready. "

So it seems like Khan knows his day will come eventually, but until then he has a fight he must focus on. Would you like to see the exciting pair fight each other next?
