On Monday (March 24), rumors went viral that former NBA star Quinton Ross' murdered body was found buried in a shallow grave in Queens.

There's just one problem with such reports - there's more than one guy named Quinton Ross in New York City.

According to the New York Post, "Cops are investigating the suspicious death of a man whose body was found buried in a shallow grave on the Far Rockaway beach Monday morning... The victim, also named Quinton Ross, was stuffed into a trash bag that was hidden in a patch of weeds midway between the water and the boardwalk at Beach 40th Street."

The victim was initially identified as former NBA baller Quinton Ross.

Fans went crazy with the news of Ross' mysteriously shocking death.

But just a few hours later, the Post corrected its report with:

"Initial reports that the victim is former Nets basketball player Quinton Ross are incorrect, police said."

The dead man is named Quinton Ross, but it's not the same guy who played for the New Jersey Nets, Memphis Grizzlies, and Los Angeles Clippers.

Rather an odd "accidental" death hoax.

The report is still disturbing, because a poor victim WAS found stuffed inside a trash bag and buried in a shallow grave. But it's not the professional basketball star.
