Before the latest season premieres in May, IDW Publishing and Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products have partnered together to launch an all-new comic book series that follows the explosive world of 24. Rogue agent Jack Bauer is back with his latest action-packed adventure in 24: Underground.

Written by Ed Brisson and drawn by Michael Gaydos, 24: Underground picks up where season eight left off and leads straight to Live Another Day. [Spoilers] At the end of season eight, Bauer is a wanted man by the American and Russian forces. Not only does Bauer have to dodge both sides, his own friends at CTU (Counter Terrorist Unit) are after him.

Editor Denton J. Tipton explains why Brisson and Gaydos are the best team for this comic. "Ed [Brisson] burst onto the comics scene with the sci-fi thriller, Comeback, which was heavy on plot and adventure, a style that fits nicely with an established property such as 24. We've paired the rising star with veteran artist Gaydos, whose draftsmanship and storytelling skills are second to none. Buckle up for a high-octane tale of Jack Bauer's missing years!"

President and Chief Operating Officer Greg Goldstein goes in-depth about the relationship between the TV series and IDW. "24 was one of IDW's earliest successes with licensed comics. And the show's stature has grown immensely since then. Returning to the world of 24 in comics, in conjunction with this highly anticipated return to TV, makes perfect sense."

The thrilling new series, 24: Underground, from IDW Publishing debuts this April. Make sure to set your clocks when 24: Live Another Day has its May 5th two-hour premiere event on FOX.
