How I Met Your Dad replaces Krysta Rodriguez with Tiya Sircar

Just days after Smash actress Krysta Rodriguez departed the How I Met Your Mother spinoff entitled How I Met Your Dad, actress Tiya Sircar has joined the show as her replacement.

Sircar will play Juliet, best friend to main character Sally (Greta Gerwig) on the CBS pilot. She just finished an arc on CBS' The Crazy Ones as Sarah Michelle Gellar's assistant and Hamish Linklater's love interest. She also had a leading role in The Internship alongside Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson last year and also did an arc on Lifetime's The Witches of East End. Vircar also stars in Disney's new animated series Star Wars Rebels.

Deadline first reported and EW.com confirmed the news on Tuesday that producers decided Rodriguez was not working out after a table read, so they decided to make a change to the role mere days before the pilot was set to begin production. As EW notes, these maneuvers are common before, during and even after the pilot production and no one is guaranteed a role until the full series order goes into effect in the summer.

Rodriguez was set to play Juliet, a "sexy, flamboyant, energetic party-girl BFF," according to TVLine. She runs her own successful fashion blog and is happy to know Sally is breaking up with Gavin (Anders Holm), whom she finds boring.
