Amy Acker, a proud member of the "Whedonverse," will once again step into Joss Whedon's world when the actress guest stars on the April 22 episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Acker will play Audrey, Agent Coulson's (Clark Gregg) love whom he first mentioned in The Avengers. During the movie, he mentions a cellist with whom he had a relationship. In an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode earlier this season, we also learned she was upset about his apparent death at the hands of Loki.

Acker previously worked with Gregg on Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing film. She currently stars as a series regular on CBS' Person of Interest. According to EW.com, there's no word yet if this Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. role is a one-time deal or a recurring gig.

The actress earned her Whedonverse membership when she starred for three seasons as Winifred Burkle, better known as Fred, and later the demon Illyria on Angel, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spinoff.

In other Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. news, the following comes from the "Mega Buzz" column at TV Guide:

"When are we going to find out who the Clairvoyant is on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.- Taryn
Though she wouldn't confirm or deny my theory that the Clairvoyant is someone we already know, executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen promises the reveal is coming very soon. How soon? Well, the April 1 episode - which features the returns of Agents Hand (Saffron Burrows), Garrett (Bill Paxton), Sitwell (Maximiliano Hernández) and Blake (Titus Welliver) - is shaping up to be pretty super. I hear one of the returning faces is harboring a big secret and another will wind up on the wrong end of a battle with Deathlok."

J. August Richards, another Angel alum, portrays Deathlok.
