Johnny Depp is officially off the market. The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star flashed what he called his "chick's ring" while promoting his latest movie 'Transcendence' in Beijing on Monday. His confirmation of the engagement comes after months of speculation that him and girlfriend Amber Heard were in fact engaged.

Depp, who is usually very secretive about his personal life, hence the months of unconfirmed engagement rumors, has kept a relatively low profile with girlfriend Amber Heard. After meeting on the set of 'The Rum Diary' in 2009 they began dating in 2012 and were rumored to have gotten engaged this past Christmas Eve.

When asked about the ring he was wearing during the promotion of 'Transcendence', Depp said "The fact that I'm wearing a chick's ring on my finger is probably a dead giveaway. Not very subtle." Later when asked why he was wearing a "chick's ring" he explained that the ring was "too big for her, so he started wearing it."

Depp's new movie, 'Transcendence' will see him playing Dr. Will Caster, a terminally ill scientist, who is on the verge of creating a machine that will allow him to download his mind into the computer and will allow him to live on after his body dies.

Heard, 27, made her film debut in 'Friday Night Lights' in 2004 and has had roles in movies like 'Zombieland', 'Drive Angry' and most recently '3 Days to Kill' starring alongside Kevin Costner which was released earlier this year.

As of now, no wedding date is set for the engaged couple.
