One Direction singer Zayn Malik is NOT dead!

Just to quickly clear that morbid rumor up.

The popular boy band crooner fell victim to the infamous online death hoax on Monday (March 31). Remember Mstars fans, April Fool's Day is tomorrow...

Apparently, a BOGUS BBC report recently confirmed that Malik was shockingly "found dead" in his hotel room. No other details were provided.

FALSE! The "Story of My Life" star is indeed still alive and well. Even so, #RIPZaynMalik quickly began trending on Twitter. Very few One Directioners fell for the disturbing prank - most fans were just really ticked-off:

@xklaineslove: "This isn't funny. Do you know what it feels like when one of your idols dies? #RipZaynMalik."

@sophia__ahmed: "I JUST HAD A HEART ATTACK WHEN I SAW #RipZaynMalik I thought it was real, I need to go to the hospital oh jeez."

@1961styles: "#RipZaynMalik I will personally piss in your nostrils and give you aids."

@HoranYaFace: "#RipZaynMalik - Whoever started this I hope your cereal is always soggy and your toast drops butter side down."

@ameliar61931715: "Dear whoever started #RipZaynMalik The One Direction fandom is coming for you. You should be terrified. I would run, if I were you."

@aishaejaz_  : "#ripzaynmalik pretending someone's dead or hurt isn't funny, it's pathetic and childish. grow up."

@zaynpapii: "To the one who started this. I hope u will die while having bath and ppl will find u naked. #ripzaynmalik."

@nxrrysprincess_ : "#RipZaynMalik Whoever began this trend, i hope you're trapped in a room full of legos with no escape & you step on one."

@Shaine_Styles1D: "#RipZaynMalik happy april fools day. Nice joke. High five in your face with a bus. Bye."

@TheViperSean: "#RipZaynMalik is the no. 1 trend in the world!! Yet again, @twitter is killing more people than #TheHungerGames."

So Malik isn't dead (again) - but whoever started this trend should be very scared for their own lives.

Twitter is going absolutely insane over this trending hashtag right now.
