Some critics said that the poor commercial success of her latest ARTPOP CD would kill what was left of her career, but it seems that Lady Gaga is having the last laugh. It appears that the multiple reports claiming that ticket sales were suffering seem to be inaccurate, according to Forbes. While she is still two months away from kicking off her ARTPOP Tour, Gaga recently announced the addition of six shows to the tour making some question her motives. Why would she add additional show to the tour, if she wasn't selling tickets for the dates already announced?

Live Nation, tour promoter for the upcoming concerts reports that the tour is in great shape. Tickets for both North American and European venues are at 80% capacity with ticket sales at $26 million averaging about $1 million per arena; pretty strong numbers for a tour that is still two months from beginning.

The following six new tour dates are coming to cities that previously were not included in the ARTPOP Ball, excluding the second date added for the Staples Center on July 22.

July 2nd: Centre Bell Centre in Montreal, QC

July 22: Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA

July 30th: US Airways Arena in Phoenix, AZ

August 1st: MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV

August 2nd: Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harvey's in Stateline, NV

August 6th: Pepsi Center in Denver, CO

The tour seems to be on its way to selling a majority of the tickets at all, if not most of the venues. Her strategy for pricing tickets lower than most of her peers seems to be working. When compared to Miley Cyrus's Bangerz tour, which kicked off earlier this year, the prices for Gaga's tickets are considerably less on both Ticketmaster as well as secondary ticket sites. Cyrus, who priced last row seats starting at $85 would only be $60 at the same venues for the ARTPOP tour.

It seems that one commercially unsuccessful album doesn't break an artist's career. The ARTPOP tour appears to be in high demand and it's on track to becoming one of the summer's must see shows.
