DeSean Jackson joins Philadelphia Eagles' rivals Washington Redskins

It may of seemed like coach Chip Kelly didn't want to deal with DeSean Jackson on his team, but he may face a fate worse than that, he will have to learn to deal with him being on their rival team, the Washington Redskins. The rumours had been suggesting this deal was near, but with several other teams in contention, the deal was never concrete. He signed a three-year contract, making himself a serious asset for the Redskins and Robert Griffin III.

During his Eagles career he caught 356 catches for 6,117 yards and 32 touchdowns, making him an elite receiver. Last season he had 82 receptions and 1,332 receiving yards. It's believed that Jackson might have off field problems, but if the team can learn to deal with that, they're picking up a great receiver that will help fire them back in to the playoffs.

With rumours of gang affiliation linked to his release, Jackson was quick to explain the situation, saying "I would like to address the misleading and unfounded reports that my release has anything to do with any affiliation that has been speculated surrounding the company I keep off of the field," he said in part. "I would like to make it very clear that I am not and never have been part of any gang. I am not a gang member and to speculate and assume that I am involved in such activity off the field is reckless and irresponsible. I work very hard on and off the field and I am a good person with good values. I am proud of the accomplishments that I have made both on and off the field."
