Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Spoilers: Why Is Glenn Talbot on the show?

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. gained a new character in the form of Col. Glenn Talbot, played by Adrian Pasdar of Heroes fame. And unfortunately for Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the rest of the team, he's not here to make life any easier.

The "Mega Buzz" column at TV Guide reveals the following from executive producer Jeph Loeb:

"Do you know why Col. Glenn Talbot is joining Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? - Pauley
With Coulson & Co. on the run, Talbot will be tasked with tracking them down. And it doesn't sound like he has friendly plans for our heroes should he catch them. 'Longtime Marvel fans know that he's been a nemesis to anything that's organized,' executive producer Jeph Loeb tells me. 'I love the fact that [Adrian Pasdar] referred to him as a world-class jerk. [Our] Talbot continues that tradition.'"

In related news, IGN got the scoop from the cast and crew about the remainder of the season, and executive producer Jeph Loeb said the fans' patience will be rewarded in these final seven episodes.

"This has been a long, slow fuse waiting for the bomb to go off," he said. "All I can tell you is, the bombs are going off. Every single episode is going to have what refer to as a 'Holy eff!' moment."

The producers have previously teased that they have a plan for the show into Season 2 and even Season 3 because this is, after all, a Joss Whedon show.
