Read ‘The Strain’ Comic Before Watching TV Series Premiere!

While audiences are waiting for the TV premiere of filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro and author Chuck Hogan's vampire epic, The Strain, another kind of adaptation is about to take place. Dark Horse Comics has announced The Strain: The Night Eternal, the third and final chapter from the best-selling novel series.

Plot Synopsis:

It's been two years since the Master's plan succeeded and a near apocalypse coated the world in darkness. Now able to roam freely, the Master's legion of vampires rule the world-a horrifying police state where humans are harvested for blood. As humanity despairs, Dr. Ephraim Goodweather and an unlikely team of heroes continue their fight against extinction, all the while hoping to unlock the secret to the Master's demise. The final chapter in The Strain Trilogy, the series that put a terrifying twist on the vampire genre, begins here.

Based on the novels, The Strain comic series follows Dr. Ephraim Goodweather and his team of scientists as they try to find a cure for the vampire plague, which has crippled New York City. An ancient evil, known only as The Master, will spread his reign of terror until humanity has become extinct. Once New York is gone, so is the rest of the world. Writer David Lapham and artist Mike Huddleston are back to continue their comic adaptation with The Strain: The Night Eternal.

Newcomers will be able to catch up on the epic series. Dark Horse will release a one-dollar reprint of the first issue of The Strain. Check out the beginning of the vampire outbreak when the first issue hits stores on June 18th. On July 9^th, readers will also see the reprint of the first volume, The Strain, in a deluxe hardcover edition.
