This week on Grey's Anatomy was sick.

Arizona warns everyone around her that she is going to become sick.  It's her gut-feeling and she's cancelling dinner plans, scheduling daycare pick-up, and postponing all of her patient work.  Alex, who is not one for magic and anything left to chance, says that she's overreacting and she's not going to get sick.  Meanwhile, all of the hospital staff is dropping like flies from an unknown illness...  coincidence?

Alex, who is the king of avoidance, has been avoiding his student loan debt and Jo is trying to get him to face the pile of collection reminders that have been gathering dust.  His residency is coming to a close and he's going to have to make tough decisions: try to stay at the hospital or move on and see what other options are out there.

Cristina, who knows what options are out there, is focused on her surgical trial.  The trial has Avery Award written all over it, but that Avery will be only an unrealized dream if either of her two patients catch whatever illness is spreading through the entire hospital.  She has Shane promise his life to protect the two patients as she must do an emergency heart surgery.

Derek, too, is focused on his surgical trial work and has been preparing a speech to woo the top neurosurgeons of the world to join the President's surgical trial.  Unfortunately for Derek, he's come down with whatever the hospital has been infected with and is forced to be bedridden after he collapses.

It's all good for McDreamy, though, because his wife is also a surgeon who is well-versed on his trial.  Meredith does her own speech for the project and the McDreamys continue their perfect lives.

With Arizona stepping down from her work because she knows she is getting sick, she calls in a new, private practice doctor who shows Alex what his life could be like: money, free time, traveling across the globe to save lives.  It's appealing to Alex who only sees a huge stack of student loan debt letters every time he goes home.

While Alex sees a brighter future elsewhere, Jo discovers a love of Ortho when Callie shows her the ropes of her Operating Room.  The two share a love of the carnage and hardcore bone-breaking atmosphere of an Ortho surgery.  Jo finds her niche and Callie has a protege to train.  She's ecstatically telling Arizona all of this until she realizes Arizona has her head resting on the toilet.

Cristina's patients are safe after her surgery, but Shane winds up sick because sick Leah took a sip of his coffee when he wasn't looking.
