No, you didn't read that headline incorrectly and no, it's not a typo. According to Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios President of Production, the company has films mapped out until the year 2028.

The news comes from a feature on Feige in Business Week. He had said in an interview with Wired last year that Marvel had a plan through 2021, and even that blew fans' minds. But the new feature reveals that Feige has a literal map pasted on the wall of his office that reveals a much more far-reaching plan.

"It's like looking through the Hubble telescope," Feige said. "You go, 'What's happening back there? And I can sort of see it.' They printed out a new one recently that went to 2028."

We know The Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man are coming in 2015 with Captain America 3 in 2016. Beyond that is anyone's guess, but Marvel owns more than 8,000 characters with which they can make films, so it's a safe bet that they have no shortage of ideas.

Marvel Studios' success has led other studios (Sony with The Amazing Spider-Man, Fox with X-Men and DC with Superman and Batman) to craft their own shared universes based on Marvel's model. Combine these four studios, and we'll be watching superhero movies a few times a year for the better part of the next 15 years.
