The 72-year-old retired from his management job last summer, finishing after 26 years in charge of his Manchester United team. He will now lecture in the Ivy League University's new programme, which has been labelled The Business of Entertainment, Media and Sports. It starts in May. It appears he will still be the boss after all. Sir Alex has been at many different soccer games this season, but it appears he's ready for a fresh challenge.

Sir Alex had his say regarding his new role, saying "I'm delighted to have the opportunity and privilege to contribute to such a respected centre of excellence," He then went on to say "The time I have already spent at Harvard has been a stimulating experience and I look forward to developing my relationship and activities with the students, faculty and friends of the Harvard Business School community."

Over the past few years Sir Alex has developed a working relationship with the university, so this comes as no surprise considering their history. Harvard Business School professor Anita Elberse said "We look forward to welcoming Sir Alex Ferguson on the HBS campus to share his remarkable leadership journey, and contribute to our Executive Education participants' ability to make a profound difference in the world,"

The programme will be a welcome distraction away from his former side Manchester United, as they continue to struggle in the wake of his departure. Can Sir Alex take his knowledge and use it for the greater good of the Harvard students?
