'Captain America: The Winter Solider' Wins At Box Office! Heading Straight Past Record $96.2 Million!

An impressive debut no doubt, Captain America: The Winter Solider is making its mark at the box-office numbers. Another victory for Marvel Studios and Disney, the blockbuster film has started out with solid numbers and will most likely finish with a very strong lead.

According to THR, Winter Solider crossed $93 million during its opening weekend. Since Thursday night, the Captain America sequel earned $10 million already and grossed more than $37 million the following night. Already receiving great reviews and stellar word-of-mouth, the film could possibly reach beyond $100 million during its theatrical run.

Chris Evans returns in the title role, along with Scarlet Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson. Picking up two years after The Avengers, a secret conspiracy is taking place within S.H.I.E.L.D. In order to find the mole within the organization, Captain America must team-up with The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and discover the identity behind the Winter Solider.
