It looks like Kathy Griffin has picked a fight with the wrong girl's fan base. Demi Lovato's fans, the Lovatics, have started sending nasty and threatening tweets to the red headed comedian.

Kathy Griffin explains the situation while she was a guest on the Howard Stern Show. "I couldn't sleep so I went on Twitter and said I'm going to tweet things using Siri, but I'm not going to correct any of the spelling." A fan then asked Griffin who's the douchiest person she's ever met, which Siri responded and she tweet "Debbie Lovato is a little douche."

This is what initiated the threats, which caught the attention of Lovato herself who tweeted regarding the incident.

"I love you guys so much but y'all gotta chill with sending hate towards other people. Regardless of what they say or do... The cruel things some of you are saying can really. REALLY hurt people. It's called cyber bullying and something's should NEVER be wished upon EVER. No matter WHAT."

Lovato deleted the comment soon after it was posted.

Griffin tells Howard Stern on his show that the extreme nature of the tweets provoked the police to respond. Kathy claims she found some of the tweets comical but at the point when you wish someone dead "it goes beyond Twitter hate and the police "actually contacted me."

She also read some of the tweets on Stern's show including the following:

@kathygriffin I will burn your house down.

@kathygriffin don't you ever talk s-t about Demi again or else us Lovatics will kill you in your sleep. Get cancer please.

And some even included the hashtag, #lovaticswantkathygriffindead

Griffin, always one to laugh off hate, told Howard that the truth of the situation was that she, "has no problem with Demi Lovato or Debbie."
