WWE Chief Operating Officer Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H, spoke to ESPN on Wednesday about the sudden and untimely passing of the Ultimate Warrior, born James Hellwig. He discussed Warrior's return, Warrior's issues with WWE and more.

Triple H told ESPN he had been working on Ultimate Warrior's return to the WWE (which culminated with a WWE Hall of Fame induction, an appearance at WrestleMania 30 and a promo on Monday Night Raw) for more than 18 months. He described the return as a healing for both WWE and Warrior, as each side needed to mature and move on from the bad blood between them in the past. Triple H also said it meant a great deal to WWE that Warrior excepted the company's offer to induct him into the Hall of Fame as a member of the class of 2014.

Triple H also echoed what Warrior said during his induction speech at the Hall of Fame, that his wife and daughters were the greatest accomplishments of his career. Hunter said Warrior was thrilled to be back with WWE and that he had a smile on his face for almost the entire time he spent in New Orleans. He called Warrior's death "shocking, tragic and devastating to all of us."

The official cause of death has not been revealed, but the Scottsdale Police Department released a statement that Hellwig and his wife were walking to their car at the Gainy Suites Hotel when he collapsed. Scottsdale Fire transported him to a local hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead shortly after his arrival. The statement only says "it appears as though a catastrophic medical condition caused his death."
