It seems brothers Peyton Manning and Eli Manning cannot move themselves away from their injury littered past, but at the moment it's Eli's injury troubles that are a cause for concern. Today he was due to undergo a arthroscopic procedure to clean out his left ankle. He injured his ankle in the final week of the season and he has been in rehab during his time off, but he needed the procedure sooner rather than later. He should be back to running and training as usual within 6 weeks, meaning that this should not cause any concern for the seasons start in September.

Eli explained what he's been going through, saying "I went through the recovery and rehab after suffering the sprain," said Manning. "I was still experiencing some discomfort as I began my normal offseason preparation, and after consultation, we felt the right thing was to have Dr. [Robert] Anderson clean out the ankle. The doc tells me I should be running in about six weeks."

Although this injury shouldn't impact his season, it's the last thing he will want to face after a horrific season. Last season was one of his worst, in which he threw for 18 touchdowns and a career-high 27 interceptions, leading his team to the poor record of 7-9.

It's highly likely that Eli would like to be resting and looking to improve for next season, and not facing this uphill battle to return to full fitness ahead of the season. Will Eli bounce back next season, or is this the start of his impending decline?
