‘Walking Dead’ Fans Must Watch Creator Robert Kirkman On SundanceTV’s ‘The Writer’s Room!’

The Writer's Room examines the thought process that takes place behind-the-scenes of your favorite TV show. In this particular episode, host Jim Rash (Community) takes fans deep inside into the creative world of comic book adaptations.

In the first season of The Writer's Room, Rash spoke to the masterminds behind the best shows on TV, such as Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones. Viewers got to see what went on behind the cameras, even before production was about to begin. Each episode features of different lineup of guests discussing the highs and lows of being a writer.

Rash sits down with Walking Dead creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman about the popularity of zombies. Smallville executive producers Al Gough and Miles Millar discuss Superman's high school origins and his coming-of-age tale. Michael Schneider, Los Angeles Bureau Chief of TV Guide Magazine, and geek culture expert Blair Butler join in on the conversation about how their favorite comic book characters achieved success with mainstream audiences.

Viewers will get the inside scoop on how The Walking Dead paved its way from the panel page to the television screen. Kirkman even discusses what storylines made the cut from the comics. For all the Norman Reedus fans out there, Kirkman even explains how the popular Daryl Dixon was created just for the TV series.
