It's been nearly two weeks since the How I Met Your Mother finale aired, but the controversial and divisive episode is still in the minds and on the tongues of many fans. Now, Bob Saget, the voice of Future Ted, has voiced his opinion on the show's swan song.

Saget appeared on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, and a caller asked him for his take on the HIMYM finale.

"I loved it," Saget said. "I was there with my oldest daughter at the reading, so I knew what it was. I knew that Josh [Radnor] was narrating it."

Prior to the finale, Saget did all instances of Future Ted's voiceover in 2030 as he told the epic tale to his daughter Penny and son Luke. But for the final stretch of the finale, Radnor took over and appeared with gray hair.

"Some people said that he should have turned into me," Saget said, "but it wasn't The Matrix."

Saget closed his remarks by saying, "I loved the show. I thought they did a really beautiful job, so that's my opinion."

Not everyone shared that opinion, but perhaps the upcoming alternate ending will placate the disgruntled fans. Series co-creator Carter Bays revealed in a series of tweets last week that an alternate ending for the series will be included on the complete series DVD box set, as well as the Season 9 DVD.

"Here's a bit of news: 16 days ago today we were in the HIMYM edit room, trying to decide between two very different endings," he wrote. "We only shot one script, but through edit room magic we had two possible outcomes for the series. We chose the ending we chose and we stand by it. But we loved the other version too. We're going to include that version on the Complete Series DVD as an alternate finale to How I Met Your Mother."

Bays also thanked the fans and noted, "If you didn't like the finale, I guess that happens. We tried something and it didn't connect with you. I hope we're still friends."Do you agree with Saget? Let us know in the comments below.
