A new DC Nation short arrives starring the caped crusader in a battle to the death. In Batman: Strange Days, the masked vigilante must fight a giant-sized monster in the lair of the maniacal Dr. Hugo Strange.

DC Comics has released the 75th anniversary animated short, Batman: Strange Days. Producer Bruce Timm, creator of the universally loved, Batman The Animated Series, returns to write, storyboard, and direct the brand new short.

In an interview with Comics Alliance, Timm explains the look of the short film, "It's in black and white. It definitely has old school technology and an old school feel to it. I went back and re-read the whole first year of Batman's comics, the early Bob Kane comics. One of the first villains Batman faced in the comics was Hugo Strange and fortunately he's a villain that hasn't been used a whole lot either in the cartoons or even the comics, recently. And he has this really cool old school mad scientist quality to him, so that gave me the idea of what to do with the story. He's the main villain. In one of those very first Hugo Strange stories, he has these three monster henchmen, these giant-size Frankenstein characters. I always like those characters so I put one of those in the short for Batman to fight."

In the action-packed movie, a Frankenstein-type creature is carrying a kidnapped woman in his hulk-sized arms. The caped crusader swoops down from his plane, shooting at the freakish looking monster. Batman has to fight the monster while trying to save the damsel-in-distress from the mad scientist. Recognizable from the animated TV series and videogames, actor Kevin Conroy returns to voice the Dark Knight.
