For what has seemed like years, rumors have swirled that Sting, the last great WCW legend who never worked for Vince McMahon, would join WWE. According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, it has finally happened.

Meltzer reports that Steve Borden, aka Sting, has inked a deal with WWE that includes television time. At the moment, it is unclear when he would debut, nor is it clear how often the company plans to use him.

Sting made his last television appearance for TNA at the company's January Genesis live special of Impact Wrestling before his contract expired. Rumors swirled that he would fight Undertaker, if not at WrestleMania 30, then at WrestleMania 31 in Santa Clara. But Taker's loss to Brock Lesnar last Sunday throws all of that into question. Other rumors suggest WWE could use sting as an authority figure on Monday Night Raw, much like Mick Foley was the Commissioner and Stone Cold Steve Austin was the General Manager.

The Shield vs. Evolution plans

The Wrestling Observer also reports that the current budding feud between The Shield and Evolution (Triple H, Batista and Randy Orton) was supposedly planned prior to WrestleMania 30. It looks like the company is building toward a six-man tag team match at Extreme Rules.

Ric Flair is also not scheduled to get involved in the Evolution or the feud. Furthermore, the teaming of Triple H, Batista and Orton is likely temporary and will be used to help elevate The Shield.

What do you think? Has Sting officially signed on the dotted line? What do you think of these plans for The Shield? Let us know in the comments below.
