The first official clip from the book to movie adaptation of John Green's The Fault in our Stars premiered last night during the MTV Movie Awards preshow, and we couldn't be more emotional. The stars of the upcoming film, Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort attended the award ceremony last night where they introduced the clip to all the tween fans of the books.

Woodley plays terminally ill cancer patient Hazel who meets Elgort's character Gus, at a cancer support group. The plot of the movie centers around Hazel and Gus's relationship as they deal with their health issues and navigating their way through their feelings for one another.

The clip shows Hazel and Gus meeting for the first time at their support group for teen cancer patients who are in remission. It takes Gus no time before asking Hazel out on a date, an invitation that he then ruins when he puts a cigarette into his mouth, something which Hazel is disgusted be.

"Do you think that's cool, you just ruined this whole thing. Even though you had freaking cancer you're willing to give money to a corporation for the chance to acquire even more cancer. Let me just tell you that not being able to breathe sucks."

Gus goes on to explain that the whole cigarette thing is a metaphor.

"Hazel Grace, they don't actually hurt you unless you light them. I've never lit one. It's a metaphor see, you put the thing that does the killing right between your teeth, but you never give it the power to kill you."

UGH the chills and emotions that this clip is bringing on just are not fair.

The movie will premiere in theaters on June 6, and lord knows I'll be there with a few boxes of tissues.
