Lamar Odom's NBA career could see a revival in the near future as rumors surrounding a deal with the New York Knicks are popping up all over the place.

"He may sign with the team to play in the last few games of the regular season and also play with them next year," a source told HollywoodLife.com. "Basically the make or break day is Monday (April 14), if he signs with the team, or not - will be ultimately decided by the end of the weekend."

Odom was most recently playing ball in Spain for Baskonia, but had to cut his contract short and return to the states. Now it looks like he's returning to the NBA with New York City.

He does have back issues but by quitting the team in Spain it allows him to train in the US and get healthy," the insider continued. "He really has to pick his spots, and one of those spots is the New York Knicks - now that Phil Jackson is with the Knicks."

Jackson coached Odom when they both were with the Los Angeles Lakers. Now it looks like they could reteam in another great sports city.

ESPN reports:

Still recovering from a back injury that curtailed his recent stint in the Spanish League after just two games, Odom is not believed to be healthy enough to play in the Knicks' season finale Wednesday night in Toronto even if he signs Wednesday. Sources say this is viewed as a long-range play for the Knicks, who are banking on the notion that Jackson -- in his new role as New York's team president -- can provide the guidance to get Odom's career back on track.
