A couple of years ago it appeared to be the perfect life for Aaron Hernandez. He and Rob Gronkowski were tearing the NFL apart with their dominant presence and constant touchdowns, but then it all started to fall apart as we learned Hernandez didn't appreciate his great life, and that he was involved in a life of crime. With Gronkowski suffering from injuries galore it seems likely Aaron would've grown in stature in New England, but instead he's in prison after being charged for murdering Odin Lloyd.

Hernandez is also facing charges for fighting with a fellow inmate this year, and one would think he would learn from his horrific past and begin to repent for his wrongdoings. Apparently not. He is currently being investigated for allegedly threatening to kill a prison guard and his family. The incident apparently took place last season and he reacted badly to having his food portion reduced, he then made gun noises at the guard and said he'd kill him and his family when he finally leaves prison. Not the words a criminal should utter if he wants to see the light of day ever again.

It seems he will never learn and with threats like these being made it's highly unlikely he will ever leave prison. Rightfully so.

It just goes to show that no amount of fame and fortune can save you, especially if you continue to re-offend time and time again. In a football perspective, sadly he will never play again, but judging him as a person, it's lucky he's behind bars where he can cause no harm.
