Michael Strahan off to a good start joining GMA Tuesday

Michael Strahan has received a warm welcome to the hit morning syndicated show, Good Morning America. Strahan officially made his debut as a part timer on the show Tuesday, April 15.

"I'm curious, when I'm here a few days a week, does that play every time?," Strahan, 42, asked about the clip revealing past photos of him as a child, Super Bowl NFL winner, and TV personality upon his arrival to the ABC studios.

Strahan joined the GMA vets, George Stephanopoulos, Robin Roberts, Amy Robach and Lara Spencer - where his new duties are to report from the studio Robach said "stories that you love" for example, feature stories, national news, sports and more before traveling uptown to his other morning show, Live! with Kelly & Michael.

"We're so excited," Roberts added. "You're going to join us a couple days a week."

Strahan who is excited about his new job said, "I watch you every morning and I always sit there and go, 'Yeah that's a good point. Now, instead of talking to the TV, I actually get to talk to you."

Strahan was welcomed with high fives, cheers, and gifts that included an alarm clock from co-worker Stephanopoulos, a huge GMA coffee mug, and a wheelbarrow full of Strahan's favorite candy, Sour Patch Kids.
