The Scandal Season 3 finale aired Thursday night, and fans are still processing the numerous twists and turns that occurred during the hour. To help fans decompress, we've got an interesting piece of trivia from the show's writers.

Series creator Shonda Rhimes, star Kerry Washington and the Scandal writers will soon appear on SundanceTV's The Writers' Room and E! Online posted an exclusive clip in which they discuss the fate of Quinn Perkins (Katie Lowes) between Seasons 1 and 2. Scandal fans will remember that was the big mystery during that break, and apparently it was a mystery to them, as well, as Rhimes emailed her writers for ideas.

"I sort of said, 'If anybody knows who Quinn Perkins is, that would be awesome to hear your pitches' because we had no idea when we left season one who Quinn Perkins was," she said.

The ideas pitched "were all insane," according to Rhimes. They included her speaking Russian and being the daughter of three different characters.

"I had heard that those were all things that were being played around with. I mean, geez, these people are so brilliant," Lowes told E! News. "They would've made anything amazing because they're all geniuses!"

One of the more interesting pitches had Quinn as Cyrus' daughter!

"I've known Jeff Perry since I was 19, he was one of my acting teachers...so to me, that would've been just so sweet and such a serendipitous gift of awesomeness," Lowes said. "But I'm really glad that it is what it was because I got to be wrapped up in the whole election rigging and I got to do scenes in an orange jumpsuit. I was thrilled about it."

And perhaps the craziest one of all? "For a hot minute, she was the Lindbergh baby," Rhimes said.
