It's been awhile since we've heard any movement on the Resident Evil movies. After making Pompeii, writer/director Paul W.S. Anderson has announced that his next project will be the sixth installment in the Resident Evil franchise.

According to CCTV, Anderson revealed what his next film project would be while speaking at the Beijing International Film Festival. He also made his first cast announcement as well for the upcoming flick.

Anderson states, "I have to go home tomorrow for Rising Resident Evil. That's what I'm going to do. As you know, Bingbing is in the last movie and she will be there again. After Resident Evil, I want to come to China and shoot film again."

A potential translation mix-up, let's assume the title is meant to be Resident Evil: Rising. Making her debut in Resident Evil: Retribution, actress Li BingBing played the live-action version of Ada Wong. Gaming fans already know Wong as the strong anti-heroine from Capcom's Resident Evil videogames.

Because Milla Jovovich was the leading lady in all the previous Resident Evil movies, we can safely say she will be back in the upcoming sequel.

Resident Evil: Rising is expected to be released sometime in 2015. Just like the other movies, the latest installment in the Resident Evil franchise will be in 3D.
