Get Ready For Star Trek’s Comic Event Of The Year! Captain Picard’s Nemesis ‘Q’ Returns In IDW Publishing’s ‘Star Trek!’

After having just fallen into darkness with Kahn, Captain Kirk and rest of the Star Trek crew have to face an even deadlier foe, the omnipotent Q. Writer Mike Johnson (Supergirl) and artist Tony Shasteen (Batman: Arkham Unhinged) kick off the six-part miniseries, "The Q Gambit," in IDW Publishing's ongoing Star Trek series.

In the Star Trek: The Next Generation series, the fan-favorite villain, Q (John De Lancie), has always been Captain Jean Luc-Picard's version of Professor Moriarty. In the series finale, "All Good Things...,"Q becomes less of an antagonist towards Picard and becomes a guiding voice. But this isn't the same Q that Picard (Patrick Stewart) has faced before. Captain James T. Kirk of the Enterprise will soon meet Q for the first time.

Johnson discusses what makes Q such a worthy adversary, "Part of the fun of the new Star Trek movie franchise is seeing how beloved characters are different in the new timeline. But one iconic adversary remains unchanged: Q. His fascination with humanity and his penchant for mischief remain the same across the multiverse, and now he's come to take the Enterprise crew on an adventure that will bring new meaning to the phrase 'no-win scenario!'"

Plot Synopsis:

The Q Gambit begins when the mischievous Q sends James T. Kirk on a quest that will see the Enterprise joining forces with familiar faces from Star Trek lore, beginning with the crew of a certain space station...
